1. The Holy Scriptures
We believe that the Holy Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God. The Scriptures are the final authority in all matters of faith and practice.
References: 2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1: 20–21; Psalm 19: 7–11.
2. The Triune God
We believe in one true and living God who eternally exists in three distinct Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three Persons are equal in power, glory, and majesty and are one God.
References: Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14.
3. God the Father
We believe that God the Father sovereignly rules over all creation according to His perfect wisdom, holiness, and love. He accomplishes all things according to His eternal purpose and will.
References: Ephesians 1:11; Psalm 115:3; Isaiah 46:9–10.
4. Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died as a substitutionary sacrifice for sinners, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now reigns at the right hand of the Father.
References: John 1:1–14; Colossians 2:9; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Hebrews 7:25.
5. The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is fully God and works to convict sinners, regenerate the elect, sanctify believers, and empower the Church for worship and service.
References: John 16:8; Titus 3:5; Galatians 5:22–23.
6. Creation
We believe that God created the heavens and the earth and everything in them by His sovereign power. Humanity was uniquely created in the image of God to know, worship, and glorify Him.
References: Genesis 1:1–31; Psalm 33:6–9; Colossians 1:16.
7. Humanity and Sin
We believe that Adam was created righteous but fell into sin through disobedience. As a result, all people are born sinners, spiritually dead, and unable to save themselves apart from God's grace.
References: Genesis 3; Romans 3:10–23; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1–3.
8. Salvation
We believe that salvation is by God's grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. God sovereignly chooses and saves sinners, not because of any merit in them, but solely because of His mercy and love.
References: Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 8:29–30; John 6:37–39; Titus 3:5.
9. Justification
We believe that sinners are justified before God solely through faith in Jesus Christ. Christ's righteousness is imputed to believers, and their sins are fully forgiven through His atoning sacrifice.
References: Romans 3:21–28; Romans 5:1; 2 Corinthians 5:21.
10. The Church
We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, composed of all true believers. Christ is the Head of the Church, and local churches exist to worship God, preach the gospel, administer the sacraments, make disciples, and exercise biblical discipline.
References: Matthew 28:18–20; Ephesians 1:22–23; Acts 2:42–47.
11. Baptism and the Lord's Supper
We believe that Baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances instituted by Christ for His Church. They are visible signs of God's covenant grace and are to be observed according to Scripture.
References: Matthew 28:19–20; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26.
12. Christian Living
We believe that believers are called to live holy lives, growing in obedience to Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. Good works are the fruit of salvation and evidence of genuine faith.
References: Ephesians 2:10; Titus 2:11–14; James 2:17.
13. The Return of Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ will personally, visibly, and gloriously return to judge the living and the dead and to establish the fullness of His kingdom.
References: Acts 1:11; Matthew 24:30; Revelation 22:12.
14. Resurrection and Final Judgment
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people. The righteous shall enter eternal life with God, while the wicked shall face eternal punishment under God's just judgment.
References: John 5:28–29; Daniel 12:2; Revelation 20:11–15.
15. The Glory of God
We believe that the chief purpose of humanity is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. Therefore, all of life is to be lived for the glory of God alone.
References: Romans 11:36; 1 Corinthians 10:31; Psalm 73:25–28.
16. Confessional Standard
Grace Reformed Church Miwani subscribes to the historic Reformed faith as summarized in the Westminster Confession of Faith, the Larger Catechism, and the Shorter Catechism, insofar as they faithfully reflect the teaching of Holy Scripture.
